Stubb’s BBQ
Working on an historic building in downtown Austin brought some unusual challenges to this reroofing project. Because Stubb’s BBQ needed to remain open for business, our crews were only allowed to work at night after the club had closed.
With temporary lighting set up across the work area, the Ja-Mar Roofing & Sheet Metal team worked through the night for three nights in a row to complete the project without interrupting a single hour of business.
The tear-off itself was no easy task. The old timber ceiling inside the bar also served as the roofing deck, and crews had to remove numerous layers of old tar-and-gravel built-up roofing while protecting the historic structure below. More than four inches of new insulation were added above the deck to bring the building back up to code.
The completed roofing system combined GAF Ruberoid APP Modified Bitumen with 26-gauge Pro-Snap metal roofing panels, giving this iconic Austin property a durable new roof while allowing Stubb’s to keep doing what it does best throughout the project.
