Science Mill
This project involved the renovation of a historic feed mill site in the heart of Johnson City that dates back to 1880. Once completed, the property became the Science Mill, a nationally recognized destination focused on interactive learning, technology, and innovation.
One of the biggest roofing challenges was the variety of roof and wall systems required across the property. The project incorporated MBCI corrugated roof and wall panels, a GAF 60 Mil TPO roofing system, and the GAF Roof Mate Elastomeric Coating System. The site's large grain silos were converted into classrooms, and we used the restorative coating system to give those structures a fresh, updated appearance while preserving the character of the original mill.
The finished Science Mill blends the site's historic architecture with modern roofing materials and building systems, creating a unique Johnson City landmark that remains a must-see destination in the Texas Hill Country.
